About Secret Garden
Plants grown and studied in Eagle River Valley.
Secret Garden is an independent Eagle River plant business. We grow seasonal starts, herbs, houseplants, flowers, and plants for containers; work with controlled pollination and propagation; and sell botanical goods, plant-care items, and local merchandise.

What we do
Growing plants is only part of the work.
Plants are propagated, observed, photographed, and tracked as they move from indoor starts to greenhouse or outdoor conditions. We record germination, flower color, plant response, and useful care details instead of relying on a generic growing label.
Seed work includes hand pollination, known parent plants, isolation and date labels, offspring color records, and selection for short Alaska seasons or other specific uses. Small trials may stay in observation until the results are consistent enough to repeat.
The website holds those notes alongside the plant identifier, Alaska observation map, current product requests, and practical growing help for local conditions.

Local growing
Eagle River conditions change the schedule.
Cool nights, wind, long summer daylight, short outdoor seasons, and low winter light all affect when plants can move, how quickly containers dry, and what belongs indoors.
